MOSCHINO x BARBIE x THE MET
Hello Barbie, let’s go party!
This ultra-rare gem is the perfect example of how my archives reflect my own history. 🥰
The Moschino x Mattel x The Met collaboration was for the 2019 Met Costume Institute, “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” I was a Merchant (Textiles and Personal Accessories) for the Met during this exhibition and this was easily my favorite exhibit that we were lucky enough to work on.
Made by Mattel exclusively for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in a limited edition of 500, the Moschino Barbie is a creative collaboration between the Italian luxury brand and Mattel's spirited icon of style. This collectible doll wears a super-sweet, super-fabulous ensemble. The outfit reimagines a look from Jeremy Scott’s 2015 spring/summer couture collection for Moschino, in which all the designs were inspired by Mattel's Barbie. (Note we have the Jeans from that collection)
